Starwood Preferred Guest

No Sign-up or Yearly Membership Fees

The “Starwood Preferred Guest” program is intended for individual customers. Benefits can be used at over 750 Starwood Group Hotels (ST. Regis, Luxury Collection, Westin Hotel and Resort, Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, and W HOTEL) in 80 countries. There are no sign-up fees or yearly membership fees.
Even when used for hotel restaurants, you can accumulate points which can then be exchanged for free stays and other valuable benefits.

What You Get

The Star Points you accrue can be exchanged for many valuable benefits, starting with free stays.

Free Stay (Starting at 2,000 Star Points)

Choose from over 750 Starwood Group Hotels in 80 countries.
Reservations and point exchanges are very simple and easy. (The number of Star Points necessary to receive a free stay depends on the hotel).
Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort: 7,000 Star Points.
Sun Hotel Phoenix: 3,000 Star Points (Weekends) / 4,000 Star Points (Weekdays).

Room Upgrade (Starting at 1,000 Star Points)

Room upgrades can be applied for in advance or upon arriving at the hotel.

Instant Award (Starting at 750 Star Points)

Your Instant Award can be applied for directly at the hotel.
Star Points can be used at restaurant hotels, recreation areas, activities, and so on.

Mileage Points for Affiliated Airlines

The Star Points you accumulate can be used in the Airline Mileage Programs of approximately 30 airlines.
Exclusively for Starwood Preferred Guests, an example of this option would be the exchange of 20,000 Star Points for 5,000 miles, quite a big step toward a free flight. Please note that exchange rates vary depending on airline.

Member Level

The Starwood Preferred Guest levels are decided by the number and length of stays in a one-year period, starting January 1st and ending December 31st. Each level offers different privileges.

Preferred Level
  1. Entry level for members who stay 1 to 9 times in a one-year period (January 1st to December 31st).
  2. For hotel stays, two Star Points are awarded for each one US dollar.
  3. At hotel restaurants, Star Points are awarded only when the bill exceeds ten US dollars.
  4. Airline mileage transfers begin at 2,500 Star Points.*
Gold Preferred Level
  1. For members who stay 10 to 24 times or a total of 25 to 49 nights in a one-year period (January 1st to December 31st).
  2. Includes Preferred Level privileges.
  3. 50% additional bonus points.
  4. Airline mileage transfers begin at 1,500 Star Points.*
  5. Preferred Room (depending on room availability).
  6. Free extension of Check-Out to 4 o'clock (at resort hotels, depending on room availability).
Platinum Preferred Level
  1. For members who stay more than 25 times or more than a total of 50 nights in a one-year period (January 1st to December 31st).
  2. Includes Gold Preferred Level privileges.
  3. Airline mileage transfers begin at any number of Star Points.*
  4. Select Suite*, including Best Available Room (depending on room availability). Assurance of a room in the case that all rooms are filled require making a reservation at least 72 hours in advance. At resort hotels and during designated periods, Select Suite privileges cannot be applied.
  5. Welcome Amenities.
* As a general rule, most airlines award 1 mile per Star Point, but the exchange rate depends on the airline.
* Select Suite varies depending on hotel.
