Phoenix Seagiai Resort (Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture, president and CEO: Yasuyuki Maruyama) began operating the Discover MIYAZAKI Shuttle on Saturday, March 17, 2007.
The Discover MIYAZAKI Shuttle, planned and managed by Phoenix Seagiai Resort, is operated as a bus especially for guests who stay at lodging facilities at the resort. Complete with bus guide, it introduces seasonally recommended sightseeing locations. Though the fare is ¥500 per person, lodging guests can use the bus free of charge.
In spring, the bus travels to the Miyazaki Flower Festa via Saitobaru Park in Saito City, known for its beautiful rape blossoms and cherry trees. Early summer offers firefly viewing in Idenoyama Park via Ikoma Kogen, embedded in blooming Iceland poppies, in Kobayashi City. In autumn, there is an observation tour of the Tsuno Winery, which has won a splendid array of prizes both in Japan and abroad, as well as grape picking at the tourist farm. The bus, with bus guide, leads the riders meticulously on a course of charming tourist spots in Miyazaki Prefecture that differs with the season. This offers guests who are staying at Phoenix Seagaia Resort an easy and delightful way to discover and experience the charm of Miyazaki.

Phoenix Seagaia Resort is the generic name of the resort facing out over the Pacific Ocean in a natural setting engulfed in a black pine forest of about 200 hectares and 11 kilometers in length from north to south. There are four lodging facilities including the Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort, and world-class convention facilities capable of accommodating as many as 5,000. Counted among the top 100 worldwide and top three in Japan is the well-known Phoenix Country Club golf course, the stage of the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament since 1974, and there is also a tennis club and other sports facilities. The Ocean Dome water park, certified by Guinness as the largest such indoor facility in the world, and a lineup of various other activities that give life to the favored environment provide the ultimate in resort stays. The onsen Shosenkyu and the Banyan Tree Spa, a pioneer Asian spa brand, were added in 2004, further evolving into a charming healing-oriented resort.
